December 1982 is accepted as the beginning of the club. Then Nikola Blagoev starts handling trainings in the sports gym of 69th school in Drujba. The training are attended by 25 - 30 people.
One year later, the group has no place to train in, so in the winter months of 1983-1984, the trainings take place outdoors in the field and the wood between "Mladost 3" and the foots of Vitosha mountain. 7 - 8 people keep training in these conditions and at the beginning of 1983 when better conditions are provided, thanks to the organization for physical culture of CKS, these people are the main body of the new group.
By this time the club establishes contacts with the kyokushin-karate club in Plovdiv, and the central for this time club in Varna.
Continue Reading...Many people from the club participate in the annual camps, handled by shihan Colins(now 7th dan) and shihan Adami(now 6th dan), as well as the tournaments, which are mainli in Varna. A leading person in the Bulgarian Kyokushin by that time is sensei Konstantin Bozhilov. Examinations for grades in kyokushin are held during the summer camps or the tournaments.
In the period 1983 - 1991, the trainings take place in the sports gym of the Autotransport secondary school in Reduta, which is the place where the advanced are training after 1988. At the same time trainings are held in "Hadzhi Dimitar","Slatina","31st School",the "Akademik" stadium,"Mladost 3". In the period between 1988 and 1991 the club has constantly 450 - 500 people attending the trainings- mainly students. Senior instructor is Nikola Blagoev, and his best students become instructors, handling the trainings with the beginners in the places mentioned. They are as follows: Alexander Tonev, Boris Vangelov, Tanio Katsarov, Nikolai Argilashki, Radoslav Hristov, Svetlozar Konstantinov and some time later Georgi Geshev also takes the responsibility.
In 1985 an agreement is concluded with the Kyokushin club - Liublin in Poland for exchanging experience. Up to 1990 annual camps take place in Bulgaria and Poland. By that time instructor of the club in Poland is Ian Piotrovski - 2nd dan. He had organized the club in a top-level, so there was much that we can learn from him.In this period of time our club is the only one that has established contacts with other clubs abroad, except sensei Bozhilov, who was holding up the contacts with all the organizations.
In 1988 the club is under the name "Kyokushin Karate Club Sofia-1". This is accepted by the Organization because by that time this really is the first and only kyokushin karate club in Sofia.
In 1993 the club changes it's name to "Express Consult", because the company is sponsor in the league for martial arts "Samurai", where the club participates under the kick-boxing rules.
Since the summer of 1995 the club's name is "Forta."
In national level there are anually camps under the guidance of different masters from Europe and Japan. Up to 1998 the camps are held by Shihan Collins-7th dan, shihan Adami- 6th dan, shihan Drevniak-7th dan, shihan Brian Fitkin-6th dan. In 1999 Bulgaria begins to organize camps with shihan Keiji Midori - 1991 World Champion, and also with shihan Ishi Tokudjun and sensei Keiji Okumura.
In 1995 Nikola Blagoev was presented by shihan Taniushkin (now 6th dan), to become a branch chief for IFK (International Federation of Karate), leaded by shihan Steve Arneil - 9th dan.
The same year club "Forta" participates in the World cup and the Euro-Asian championshipin Moscow. During the tournament, where Grisha Todorov(70kg category) and Nikolai Markov(80kg category) are fighting, Nikola Blagoev is introduced to hanshi Arneil by shihan Taniushkin. Then an agreement is reached that Nikola Blagoev will take the statute of an IFK country representative for Bulgaria.
In 1997 Bulgaria participates in the first World Tournament in the organization of IFK. The team's leader is Nikola Blagoev and the participants are Nikolai Markov and Zihni Hasanov.
In the summer of 1998 shihan Taniushkin arrives in Bulgaria to handle an examination for black belts. Nikola Blagoev completes the 2nd dan and four more competitors - the 1st dan.
The trainings in the club are three times a week, except if preparing for tournament, when there are five - six trainings for the competitors. A normal training lasts about 1,5 hours.
On 18.11.1989 the club organises the first Republican Tournament in Sofia. The tournament took place in the Universiada hall. There was a big interest in the event and there was not enough space for all the people, which resulted in small damages of the building. Guests of the club during the tournament were karate-kas from the clubs in Rostov-na-don and Buhara.
In December 1992 the club organises the so called "Tournament of the challenges" in hall-1 of the National Hall of Culture. It was attended by fighters from different styles.
In January 1994 there was a Republican Tournament in the "Universiada" hall. Fighters from Samara and Rostov-na-don-Russia participated in it.
The next tournament, organised by the club took place on 14.12.1997 in hall 2 of the National Hall of Culture. The tournament was only for the best competitors and was broadcasted on "Efir2" of the National television.
The consecutive Republican tournament, organised by the club, took place on 15.04.2000 in the "Hristo Botev" hall.
On 2003 "Forta" prepares the "Toshiba" cup tournament which took place on 25.10.2003 in hall 2 of the National Hall of Culture. The "Toshiba" tournament became annual and was held also on 6.11.2004 and 19.11.2005 in the same place.
